What is Fleet Installer?
FleetInstaller is a digital companion application designed to assist mechanics in the installation and preparation of SCALAR Evo Pulse, in a mechanic’s workshop.
How does user configure TPMS in Fleet Installer?
In the installation wizard, configuration of the TPMS is the 5th step. To configure the TPMS there are three methods:
1. Manually reading the ID on the sensor and typing the ID into the system.
2. Choosing a sensor found in the range of the telematics device.
3. Triggering the sensor to ‘wake up’ using a Low-Frequency reader tool.
Who is the User of Fleet Installer?
Fleet Installer is an app for mechanics to install and prepare telematics devices like SCALAR Evo Pulse on trailers. They use the app to ensure devices are installed correctly and configured properly.
How is the typical user behavior?
Mechanics often set up all sensors at once using option 3 (TPMS manager). They start with the left Tire closest to the center on the first axle, then move outward. After completing the left side, they repeat the process for the right side, starting from the Tire closest to the center on the last axle.
Problem
The problem statement of this assignment is to improve the current process of mapping the sensors by increasing the the efficiency and accuracy of the system.
Business Objective
Redesigning the user interface (UI) of the Fleet Installer application to streamline the Tire pressure sensor mapping process, ensuring ease of use, accuracy, and efficiency for mechanics installing telematics devices on trailers.
Feature Prioritization
Provide information of the sensor data of each Tire.
Option for the user to skip sensor mapping if the process is failed.
Option to review the sensor mapping again after an attempt to wakeup all sensors.
